Heh. That's my theory anyway. I think posessiveness is a pretty well established character trait for Clark. Even with Chloe he does not like other boys sniffing around her. Sure, they all turn out to be meteor freaks, but he doesn't really know that at first. We've never really seen Pete try to have anyone come before Clark, but I have a feeling Clark would be a pissy bitch about it.

I'm not saying this in a Clark hate way. I actually think it's kind of endearing that he wants to be the center of his friends' attention. His jealousy makes him very real and human.
